The Workforce Readiness Pipeline: Education and Business Partnerships

Ready by 21 is a strategy that helps communities improve the odds that all youth will be ready for work, college and life. Business leaders understand that all young people need to grow up healthy and strong, equipped to excel in school today and in the jobs of tomorrow.  American business competitiveness and economic prosperity depends on a skilled and prepared workforce.

We invite you to learn about how partnerships between local businesses, education, and local government can provide corporate leaders with the ability to influence skill development for the future workforce. One of the panel discussions at our upcoming 9th annual meeting will feature representatives from the Louisville, Kentucky, business community and the Mayor's Office, in which they will highlight the city's successful private/public partnerships. Louisville, Kentucky, is a Ready by 21 community.

The panelists will discuss the benefits of partnership, why they came together, the variety of ways they partner and their goals for sustaining these partnerships and achieving results. Melissa Hough, Corporate Voices' Vice President for Workforce Readiness, Business & Community Engagement, will moderate this discussion.
